Our family stayed at Cedar Valley for an extended weekend for a reunion. We rented 3 cabins that slept 36 of us comfortably! The rooms are each equipped with individual sinks, which was such an added bonus! This allowed everyone to washed hands regularly while still had the privacy of their own rooms for morning routines. Each cabin had a great mix of rooms allowing families with children to all stay in 1 room thanks to the bunk bed/queen lay out. From the very beginning, during, and checking out, the staff was top notch and was so helpful! During our stay, it was raining and the staff was able to bring over an extra large propane grill for us to use under the covered porch. This saved us greatly and we couldn't be more appreciative! There was horseshoe and playgrounds right in front of our cabins which made playing super convenient as the adults could watch from the deck. Additionally, there was a game room with a few other games you could use during your stay. We will definitely be back! Dont hesitate to book your stay!

Absolutely beautiful place to have a retreat! Lots of wonderful places to walk in nature and so many other options, even in the winter. The cabins are spacious and well kept. Definitely cozy when you could sit and look out the window or on the porch for birds, squirrels, and deer. Will definitely be back again to explore more!

Thank you, Cedar Valley Resort for the amazing time we had with the group of teens from our church!!! It is truly a beautiful place inside and out. So grateful to God for giving us this opportunity to be able to spend a weekend at your place. The service was amazing! Perfect place for any big or small group gathering. We have a yearly friends gathering at Cedar Valley that includes working on scrapbooks, sewing and other projects. They are set up well to accommodate this and the cabins are spacious, clean and cozy. Well stocked kitchens too. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

Perfect for large family gatherings as you can rent multiple cabins or have many members share the same large space. Just know that you have to bring your own towels for the bathrooms and kitchen spaces. Kitchens are stocked with utensils, bowls, bake ware and anything else you will need. Pickleball courts, a basketball court, sand volleyball, river tubing, and disc golf are just some of the activities available on site! Some of the larger cabins also have their own playground setups for the kids! Lanesboro is just a few minutes away and offers a quaint downtown, perfect for an afternoon stop. Lots of local charm!

I highly recommend Cedar Valley Resort! This was my 2nd time visiting and I can’t say enough great things about my time there! The Big Timber cabin was perfect for our women’s Bible study retreat! We had a blast staying in the cabin, enjoying the resort grounds, and exploring Whalan & Lanesboro! John, Lucas, & the Cedar Valley team are incredible!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed at Cedar Valley Resort in Whalen, Minnesota, and absolutely loved it! We shared Cabin Loon with three other couples, and it was perfect—spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were super comfy. We also loved hopping on the nearby bike trails right from the resort. The owners were fabulous—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. Highly recommend!

Cedar Valley Resort is a great place to stay. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It's beautifully maintained, very roomy and large cabins (we stayed in Moose Lodge) and well maintained and CLEAN!!' The grounds are beautiful and its easy access to the root river trail. We would stay here again and can't wait until next time.

The Cedar Valley Resort is better than top notch! Four couples reserved the Loon- a 6 bedroom cabin. We planned to e-bike, spend time in the small quaint towns and hang out at the cabin. We were all so impressed with the professionalism and kindness of the owners! They were so accommodating and willing to go above and beyond to make our stay a good one! The cabin was sooo clean and neat! It was perfect for 4 couples! Each had a bedroom and a full bathroom. Each bedroom has a sink, too. The grounds are so well maintained! You can tell the cabins were built with a lot of thought about the customers' needs. So many things for families to do! The view out our living room window was beautiful! The resort is right on the Bike Trail! Even the store/office is well-done! We loved hearing about the history of the resort. The land was the current owners' grandfathers land... who worked for the railroad (now the bike trail). The parents built the resort and now the son and daughter have taken it over. There is great pride in this resort and it shows! I could go on and on.... but simply put.... you will not be disappointed when staying at Cedar Valley Resort. We are making this a yearly stay! Cedar Valley Resort is a wonderful place to stay. The location is beautiful and the resort is well maintained. We had a group of six and stayed in the Willows. This was our second trip to Cedar Valley Resort and the Willows. It did not disappoint . We were a few miles from Lanesboro but getting there to shop and eat was easy and quick. Great choice for your family or group!!
